| Cadillac Cadillac is the oldest automobile manufacturer to originate in Detroit, Michigan. The company is named after the French explorer who founded the city. General Motors purchased Cadillac in 1909 and that same year Cadillac produced almost 6,000 vehicles. Over six million vehicles had been built by the end of the 1970s; Cadillac celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2002. |

  | Base 2008 Cadillac CTS caught in wild GMI Reader Catches 08 CTS!       Since the Detroit Auto Show last January we've been seeing many fully-loaded examples of the new 2008 Cadillac CTS. Now a reader of GM Inside News has managed to get some closeup time with a base-level CTS in someone's driveway. The interior shots show that at least this for this particular example, Cadillac is doing a better job of aligning the door and dashboard trim than on some other recent GM vehicles we've seen. Hopefully this gets carried through to production and spreads to the Saturn Aura and Outlook.
