Corvette Zo6 more horsepowers than 505

When I hear this about a few Japanese cars I believe it, but about a Chevrolet? I just can't fathom them knowing it makes 550 and not advertising that unless they knew they would sell all the Z06s they could make regardless of whether it had 505 or 550. But even then, what's the point?

Yeah the japs do that cause they have to.. i dont think they can sell cars with more than 280hp or something like that.. without paying some really high tax..
But anyways i dont know much about the Z06 but it sounds like they made a really gr8 car this time.. it looks superb IMO

Wow man i was hoping that i would get some times to compare it with.. 7.42 doesent say much to me..

The 7:42.9 time of the Corvette makes it faster than an M3 CSL (7:50), Lamborghini Murcielago (7:43.5), and Pagani Zonda C12 S (7:43). It's also still slower than the Ford GT (7:42), and then other various superior vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR, Porsche Carrera GT, Koenigsegg CCR, Pagani Zonda F, etc.

today i went with my dad to the ford dealership by me to have our truck checked out and in the showroom ther was a red ford gt
that is one mean lookin car
had my camera to so got some nice shots

It said according to Octane magazine. Some times will be more credible than others. If you look at the list, the Mosler MT900 Photon has 7:42 also, but the run was in poor conditions with a driver that doesn't know the track and they didn't do many repeat laps. Obviously the car has the potential to go much, much faster than this. That's why some times are going to be different than others as it depends on conditions, driver, and how much energy they put into the times such as running a car for months (Carrera GT) vs. a few laps one day.
