| Chrysler The Chrysler Corporation began as the Maxwell Motor Corporation, which hired Walter Chrysler in 1921 to help the company out of bankruptcy. Chrysler flirted with bankruptcy again in the early 1980s, but Lee Iacocca and the K-car came to the rescue, followed in 1984 with the introduction of the market-changing minivan. In November 1998 Chrysler became a division of DaimlerChrysler AG, created by a merger between Daimler-Benz and the Chrysler Corporation. In 2007 Chrysler split from Daimler to become Chrysler LLC. |

Despite being one cool looking car, the Crossfire was pricey and had an interior with more plastic than Barbie's dreamhouse. Can probably pick one up for a smokin' price right now. |

But seriously who did Chrysler think they were hustling. Who the hell want to buy a car which is based of a 10 years old model, ***. The Crossfire is the last 35-45k coupe I would consider buying. You should probably stick to the A3, it is even much more rare than the Crossfire. I can't tell you that I have seen more than 3-5 A3s during the latest 2-3 months. | |

And at least in my opinion, while the Crossfire Roadster version looks surprisingly good. The Coupé version is one of the most ungodly ugly cars ever to grace the roads. |

Crossfire survives for another year ![]() When the Crossfire was introduced, it was hailed as the consummation of the German-American marriage between Daimler and Chrysler. It's success, or lack thereof, may have foretold the rocky relationship that would ensue over the following years. But even though sales have continued to decline, Automotive News is reporting that the Crossfire will be back in 2008, equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system and a few other minor changes. The last few years have been less-than-stellar for the Mercedes-based coupe. With a glut of unsold '06 and '07 models filling storage facilities in Europe, orders were suspended for a while, but production never ceased. In the meantime, Crossfire sales have declined, from 14,665 in 2005 to 8,216 in 2006, and in an effort to stop the downward spiral, a series of incentives have been thrown on the hood. How long this can continue is an open question -- something that Chrysler's new suitor, Cerberus Capital Management, can't put off for long. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER |
