Someone from M5board.com took different laptimes and accelerate times from C&D and summed it up.

Grattan lap times:

Z06: 1:26....(1:23.5 Gm test driver)
Viper: 1:27.5
M5: 1:31.25
CLS55AMG: 1:32.55
Charger SRT-8: 1:32.65
STS-V: 1:33.55
Mazda MX-5 - 1:36.14
Pontiac Solstice - 1:37.35

100-150mph

Corvette Z06: 9.6
Ford GT: 11.1
M5: 11.4
Gallardo: 12.3
55AMG: 15.1
Corvette Z51: 15.4
911 Carerra S: 16.2
Porsche 911: 18
Charger SRT: 19.5
STS-V: 24.9

Z06 is awesome, for the money you get a great trackcar and fast at straightlines. Z06 impress me more and more

Yeh the M5 is rediculous, but the Z06 is still very impressive too. Id like too see the numbers on the M6 against all these....

I am able to get a spot for an M6 thru Bell BMW in NJ. Sales left me a message the other day, im thinking i should do it, but do i want a 'vert?

The M6 for me is the car! I think they should stop testing the M5 and run the M6 in its place. Thats the real contender.

If I were you I should wait. M5/M6 are having VANOS problems, I expect a recall soon.

A vert on an M6 I think might just not do it for me... the M6 was meant to be a very very fast car that is more sport orientated. To me a vert would spoil that.

P.S. I say go for it, I don't think that that M6 is going to be there for very long.

Its not there now, it would be a custom built order do my specific's, and when they finally release them in the US , you have to wait till yours comes in.

Mr.Just_Me spooked me and sent me a link of Vanos oil issues that i dont need. Very scary how many people have experienced the problem. Thats why i hate buying first year builds, until they have been out for a while. Dont have the time to be a guinea pig.

MoterWeek put the Z06 threw the paces though and said some body flex was detectable which is not good in such a light car.

no explosions. Its the same problem M5 E39 had in the beginning. Its a tube leaking oil from the VANOS. Oddly It seems to be mostly americans with the problem.
