Amerang: German Car Museum (Part I: 1885-1942)

Went to this place again. They always have cool exhibitions that get updated regularly. The museum focuses only on German cars and the development of the car within Germany from the beginning to the mid 1990s. If you're ever in this area of Germany, check out this place.

This is how much Germany contributed to the development of the automobile. The busts represent the big German inventors like Karl Benz, Gottlieb Daimler, Felix Wankel, Wilhelm Maybach, Nikolaus Otto, Rudolf Diesel, August Horch and Robert Bosch (not listed in order as they appear in the pic). Who's your daddy now!?

Before we go further, a basic German lesson is necessary. Also, many of the car brands you will see here don't exist anymore. Adler for example made typewriters after World War II.

A friend of mine just finished restoring one (a month ago). He has it in a garage near my house and some time ago, i went to see it! that car is totally awesome. He turned the engine on and that V8 sounds great -for a 1939 car.

Well, now he has many responsibilities with his work and he doesn't have much free time to take it for a test drive, so probably at the christmas vacations we will meet each other and drive that car!

He lives 5 minutes away from me and he is a great guy! He is now working on a 1942 Opel Olympia and has finished a 1969 Citroen (don't remember the name).

edit; I would have taken some pics the first time i saw it, but i didn't have a camera with me, even that damn 9300 has one, and the light is not suitable for photographing the car.
BTW, it is black and cherry red with black leather interior and REAL wood!
